solivarii is a painter working at the meeting point of tantric practice and contemporary art. The work begins with the geometry of yantra and mandala, drawn by hand with compass and straightedge, and moves outward into large paintings in mineral pigment, gold and lamp black.

The practice behind it is Shaiva and Shakta tantra as it was taught in the old texts: mantra, visualisation and the slow discipline of attention. Not the bookshop version. These essays are where the two halves meet, and where the questions that don’t fit on a canvas get worked out.
